Temple Lomi Healing Massage
With Elizabeth Ann Fenton
Elizabeth’s fifteen years of experience with massage and energy work opened a pathway for offering the ancient art of lomi healing massage for transformation.
When two people come together with intention, a connection to infinite wisdom is formed, and a profound shift and healing can occur. In Temple Lomi, the practitioner acts as a witness, and once seen, the receiver’s fragmented or dark aspects may surface. They can be transformed into light through acceptance. With more of their true self and essence present in the body and soul, the receiver may experience an epiphany or vision, either instantly or over time, that guides them toward their highest path and purpose.
The ancient Polynesian practice of Lomi was once passed down orally through family and Kahunas of various family lines, serving as both a rite of passage and a crucial ritual for preparing community members for high-ranking positions within Hawaiian society. As a result of colonization, in 1778, all traditional cultural practices and language were outlawed, and it wasn’t until 1978, with the “Native American Religious Freedoms Act, " that the Hawaiians were legally allowed to share their cultural practices again. Though understandably not all practices were shared with the outside world, there were two significant people in Hawaii, who taught outsiders different forms of Lomi massage. Kelehua Aunty Margaret Machado and Kahu Abraham Kawaii.
Kahuna massage, also known as Temple-Style Lomi, was developed by Kahu Abraham Kawaii, and this bodywork was just one aspect of teachings focused on mastering the Self. Kahu taught Lomi Temple Style from 1981 until he died in 2004.
The Kanaka maoli (Native Hawaiians) lived with the understanding that all things are connected and, as such, part of their ohana (family). Their way of life was based on “Aloha” (unconditional love), and they had a deep respect for akua (spirit).
In Temple Lomi, the three aspects of a person's being are brought into balance.Kino (body)Mana’o (mind)Pu’uwai (heart)
A Lomi Lomi session allows the receiver to fully experience the pa’a (now). The present moment contains all and offers endless possibilities. The goal of a temple Lomi healing with Elizabeth is to promote ease and comfort as the body and spirit ascend into higher consciousness, contributing to a shift on the planet toward a Golden Age of enlightenment.
